The fate of a Yeti

This was a short story that I had to write for English on existentialism, when I say short, it is really short!

Fate of a Yeti

There lived a Yeti named Greghou who lived on top of mount Kathmandu, in his ghoulish castle with his watchful vassal the young and pretty Florine. Greghou’s face was marred by the horrid snowstorms but his eyes had kept the glow of the kid he was. He chased after lost travelers trapped in the Himalayan weather making their fate far more bitter by sticking his dagger in and out of their liver. Florine made a wonderful stew of limbs and organs that she served her master in the family room. It wasn’t much of family room though, as Greghou’s father had died some years earlier from a terrible disease cast by man, making the young Greghou the last remnant of a dying species. Greghou hadn’t always been this morbid and had expressed his passion for becoming the greatest Yeti dancer the world had ever known. His father had laughed and replied: “My dear son, you see this portrait of your great-great-great-great-grandfather the brave Isaker, he first came here 400 years ago and killed humans until his dying days. It is then your duty as it was mine to keep doing what we have always done and maintain our prideful ways; to kill, eat and sleep.”

So when Florine asked him why he was in such a macabre mood he got very angry and told her it was his duty to feast on human flesh, and that frankly she was getting quite too outspoken. “There is still time Greghou, be who you’ve always wanted to be as your father can’t judge you from his grave” she said. So the Yeti master cut her tongue so she may never doubt the grand ways of his ancestors. He then ate his meal as joyfully as he could quite remember.

Some say a hint of a smirk could then be seen on the austere portrait of the great Isaker.

(la réponse est : you gotta have them both. you gotta be ghetto chic gurl)

SAN to YUL + définition

Hello online diary.

Help?

Based on a true story

I rarely do art critics but I think that this was long overdue, I offer my apologies to all those art purists who see my lack of interest towards most artistic fields.

What's worst than watching a movie and realizing at the end that it was based on a true story?

I always have thought that it most take an amazing amount of lack of imagination to appreciate a play/novel/movie that is based on a true story. Isn't the biggest fabricated lie also the most conceivable.

A personal hero of mine is greek historian Herodotus, he was famous for writing accounts about places he had never visited. Making out people bigger than life and making up accounts of thousands of winged snakes that protect the trees of Arabia.

His main purpose was to make a good story however false it may be.

This is why I'd rather stick to my 1001 nights accounts of the Persian empire where flying carpets, talking monkey's and magical caves exist than to go back there and face the despotic regime, amount of pollution and religious zeal pf Iran.

Also why I'd rather believe Dinesen's Out of Africa, than to go to Kenya and face the genocides, drug lords and corruption.

The greater the lie, the better the artist.
I'd don't need news anymore, just the bunch of lies gathered in a novel.

I get cheese

Most people my age already know what they want to do with their lives, I mean I'm heading for university but I have no clue as to how I'll make my dough in the foreseeable future.

I'm not even slightly stressed about it, my folks are starting to think there's a problem with me, like a total lack of interest in any valuable cause.

But I just know that I want those "roosters in my rari" and the only way for that to happen is that I just go with the money flow.

Ain't we all self-conscious? Sounds like I'll be one those a-holes that enter their children in toddler baby pageants, or better yet I'd put them through piano classes at 5 (kinda like what my mom did to me, Freud wouldn't be too proud).

Ahh at least I won't be one those wacky hypocrites who rush through community work through their college years not because they want to get into med school, but because they want to help "their fellow citizens".

trapped

So last week was the Iranian new year which is like christmas, new-year & Thanksgiving all combined into one, so yeah, it's kind of a huge deal for us.

For the first year since I can remember, I questioned the purpose of the festivities beyond its material benefits(more extensive than you would think).

I mean most of us rather use the term "Persian New Year" to evoke the grandiose imagery of a long lost people to overshadow the crap hole into which our country is right now. Civil uprising, pollution, radical Islam, destitution of women's rights, malnutrition and illiteracy in the rural areas and to top it all a legitimate threat of becoming the next target of a war on terror.

Then I think of my uncle back in Cali with his 150k pool who wont give in to buying a coffee machine just because he doesn't want to waste money when he can filtrate coffee manually.

My cousin who "hates" her parents because she didn't get the car she wanted.

And here I am literately trapped between two worlds of opposite cultures trying to adapt or get conquered.

Cursed by the pride my grandfather forced into me, toppled by MTV telling me to give in to my impulses for cash&hoes.

A tradition of new year, my father randomly opens me the book of Hafez, Iranien poet whose lines are used as prophetic message for doubts and worries.

"Seek that from idols, O knowing heart,
Said the one whose insights, his knowledge crowned.
My heart, like a compass, goes round and round,
I'm lost in that circle, with foot firmly on the ground."

Again forced back into status quo.

Genius marketing scam

Hunger Games par Suzanne Collins =

Brave New World Huxley+ Lord of the Flies Golding+ Fear Factor + du pain et des jeux + voyeurisme + Uglies Westerfield + mindfuck + Hollywood

Horribly awesome despite its hideous artwork cover.

One big room, full of bad...

Disclamer : Hustle, you will hate this.

J'approuve.

Wednesday

long lost nostalgia

It must have been a Friday because the sound of the afternoon prayer coming from the large speakers could be heard from anywhere in the city.

The arid weather of Tehran felt as though being stuck in a furnace. Then the distinct sound of every car horn coming from the chaotic road traffic; bone white Peykans moving as a flock of goats. The sound of the bazaar merchants selling counterfeit to costumers with their habitual exceedingly friendly tone.

The image of my late grandfather came to my mind, the old man who had lived and knew it all. His prophetic stature and old-fashioned manners were always a subject of ridicule during my youth: a senile pillar of ancient times. The only words I cared to remember were his last words before I left the homeland was: "It's not where you live that makes who you are but where you feel you belong in your heart."

I smiled as I figured that the old had had the last laugh finally as his words had hit home. I guess he always knew that whenever I would return the simplest things such as the sound of the laughter coming from the children playing soccer outside or the smell of late blooming lilies would chain me to this place like no other strong statement would.

I still remember...

The winds of change have since blown this city furiously with numerous regime changes and false hopes though the Damavand peak always stands as a giant against a sky as clear as sapphire...

Karlie Kloss. Zach capoterait.

A lotta shit unresolved you know. Alors, je dois commencer à traiter mes parents mieux. Cause I just take them for granted.

Ahh....girl with daddy problems. so typical.

Look, I don't even remember the name of the brand. Dsquared2? Most probably. Trashy meets classy is their signature style. La cigarette est un indice de plus.
